I remember the swim calls because I remember treating you guys for jelly fish stings. I think it must have hurt you too, because a couple were holding back the tears. I would think you would all remember these swim calls.

Coop, that would be the incident I mentioned. The jelly fish were only about the size of a quarter and I heard they were called sea wasps.

I believe you are all refering to Operation Sailor Hat in 1965. 500 tons of TNT were detonated on the edge of the island to test the effects on Navy ships anchored a mile off shore. Included in the test were the HMCS Fraser, USS England, USS Atlanta (a decommissioned cruiser with 3 deck houses, steel, aluminum and fiberglass) and I believe one or two others further out. There was a movie made about the effects of the blast on the different types of ships, angles to the blast and types of material the ships were constructed from.
