Ken , didn't we kill a lot of time at the blast site having Bar-B-Ques and swim call on the fantail . Didn,t some of the guys even try to catch some fish ?

I don't remember but one swim call and that was in the South China Sea. we were swiming among a bunch of sea wasps and several guys got stung.

Yeah, I remember at least a couple of swim calls, I remember having watch on the bridge along with the GM who had the shark watch with an M1. always wanted to figure out how to sneak one of those out of the armoury but never made it.
Never got to bring home an m14 from nam eithr

I remember the swim calls,too. What was the GMs name who was shark watch? The motivation to clear the water was threat of opening scuppers. I believe at least one crewmember didnt make it....was the island Kahoolawe? That was the one used for shore bombardment practice.
