I put away my share of Loganberry wine. I was only 17 when we were in Bremerton, but I never had trouble buying all the Loganberry I wanted. It was cheap too. I found I could usually afford far more than was good for me. It sure made some colorful puke.
A mixed drink was Loganberry mixed with Oly.
I get a headache just thinking about some of the hangovers I had. It's hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago.

It occurred to me more than once that an evil force was providing a subsidy for this medication. I don't recall that it was ever served in less than pitcher quantities and I don't think it was popular anywhere but Bremerton ... was it locally produced?

I know for a fact that it's popularity spread as far away as Seattle.

John, Loganberry wine was just something everyone was drinking when we were in Washington. It was cheap and it did the job. I don't even remember what it tasted like, but I liked it at the time. Some of us would share a room, fill the tub with ice, wine, and beer, and spend the weekend getting wasted.
California is supposedly where all things exciting start? Well, in the 60s Seattle was one big party compared to southern California.
It was a very fun place to be for a young sailor looking for a good time.
