RON AND I MADE THAT R & R TRIP TO MANILA . WHAT A TIME . SHARED A DOUBLE ROOM WITH ONE LONG HEADBOARD . SEEMS LIKE EVERY TIME I WOULD GET TO SLEEP THE DAMN HEADBOARD WOULD START WHACKING THE WALL .
IN THE LATE 70'S OR EARLY 80'S RON WAS CLEANING HIS 22 RIFLE AND IT WENT OFF AND SHOT HIM IN THE STOMACH . HE DIDN'T DIE FROM THE GUNSHOT , HE DIED FROM LEAD POISONING .

I remember Ron well and I'm sorry to hear of his accident. I hope as more crew members find the Cochrane site the In Memory Of section doesn't keep getting more names. This is getting to be a bummer.
