I remember being on sounding and security watch and stopping in to see Blaisdell's latest creation. He used to spray paint with food coloring flicked with his thumb. Really made some pretty designs. I think I have a picture of one of his cakes somewhere. He also created the cartoons that were used in the 66 cruise book I think. He told me his dream was to be the baker for the White House.

When did Ron die? This is the first I heard about it.

In the time I was on Cochrane, I can say that the chow was markedley superior to the other ship I was on. As I recall, there were Lobsters along with those aforementioned steaks about every 3 weeks or so. I certainly ate more lobsters on Cochrane than any other time in my life! Although none of the aforementioned cooks were there during my time there, it sounds like Cochrane was blessed with good cooks, and a supply officer that could juggle the books well enough to keep these highly qualified folks well stocked with plenty of good stuff to work with! Bon Apetite! (SP?)

SIGNATURE? Sounds too much like computrrese for my comprehension!

Good thing the chow was good or we would've had to wash it down with Cooper's Chlorine water
